Working to an existing brand style comes with it's own set of challenges. The Duolingo character design guidelines were very strict but very well thought out so designing in this style became very intuitive and fun after a little settling in period. The existing cast are an absolutely stunning example of character design at it's best so it's really exciting to see my designs alongside those of Lily, Zari (see page bottom) and the rest of the Duolingo cast.
